After a career in Civil Engineering, I decided to retrain by taking OLCI's Become a Qualified Plumber course, spurred on by the potential earnings and the chance to be self-employed. Since completing the course, I have set up my own business which I have been running for over a year and is becoming increasingly successful. Training with OLCI means you can start straight away
I wanted to start my training as soon as possible so it made sense for me to choose OLCI. I didn't have to wait for a course to begin - as soon as I'd enrolled I was sent the training material so I could start straight away. Now, I've completed my course and already set up my own business, AV Electrics, which is very successful.

OLCI offered this learner a more enjoyable training experience than another training provider
I started my electrical training with Access 2 Trades. I saw one of their adverts on the Internet and enrolled. Unfortunately it went badly and their training centre was so far away that I'd have to spend more money on overnight accommodation and travelling. After Access 2 Trades went bust I transferred to OLCI. OLCI handled my transition very smoothly. The OLCI training was brilliant and the instructor, Pete, was amazing. The training centre was closer too - less than an hour away from my home. Whenever I phoned OLCI staff they were helpful and organised. Having trained with both Access 2 Trades and OLCI, I'd certainly recommend OLCI to everyone.

A friend recommended that I train with OLCI so I enrolled on the Become a Gas Engineer course. I wanted to have my own heating company and be independent. I was so pleased with the quality of OLCI's training that I enrolled on the Solar Thermal renewable energy course and my colleague completed the Heat Pump (Air and Ground Source) course. I now have my own successful business, Future Heating.

I trained with OLCI because the relationship was so professional. I spoke with one of OLCI's Careers Advisors who dealt with my call effectively and answered all my questions. Having been in the Forces for 10 years, I felt I needed a change and so decided to train as a plumber. OLCI had a training centre nearby and were able to train me in the qualifications I needed to become a qualified plumber. My tutor went far beyond the call of duty to help me and, without his help, I wouldn't have learnt so much in such a short space of time. I was made redundant from my previous job and decided to get qualified as an electrician. I chose OLCI because it's an established company and has centres across the UK. I found my practical training tutor, Dave, so knowledgeable that you could write the things he didn't know about electrical work on the back of a postage stamp! After passing my assessments I'm now working for Phase Cabling Solutions in Middlesbrough as an installation electrician, and really enjoying my work.
