Our gas courses
To work with gas in the UK you must be registered with Gas Safe Register. Our main course – Become a Gas Engineer – prepares you for registration with Gas Safe Register.
Course What you can do | |
| Become a Gas Engineer | Upon successful registration with Gas Safe Register, you could work for yourself or gain full-time employment as a gas engineer. You will be able to work on: servicing of gas appliances, installations and maintenance jobs within rented property, emergency callouts, new builds and domestic properties. |
This course comprises three parts:
1. Essential Preparation
For those who don’t have experience in the plumbing or gas industry, or for those who don’t already possess a relevant qualification. Please contact us for details
2. OLCI Construction Training Gas Training Workshop
Currently held at our Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, Leeds, Livingston, London Central, Manchester, Merseyside and Newcastle centres.
3. ACS Gas Workshop and Assessments
Currently held at our Birmingham, Bristol, Livingston and London Central centres, with Newcastle to follow shortly.
ACS re-assessments incl. CPA1 also available - please call us for details.

About Gas Safe Register
Gas Safe Register is the body charged by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) to maintain a register of competent gas engineers in Great Britain, Northern Ireland and the Isle of Man. Registration with Gas Safe Register is a legal requirement for businesses and self-employed people working on gas fittings or appliances in the UK.
OLCI Construction Training is registered with Gas Safe Register, and able to offer the ACS Assessments you need to achieve your own registration.
Gas Safe Register gas engineers
are needed
for a wide range of work – giving you opportunities to start your own business or gain full-time employment.
Servicing work This can bring in continuous income for you, as every domestic gas appliance should be serviced annually.
Work in rented property Here, gas appliances have to be serviced and a landlord's safety certificate completed. This is a legal requirement and feeds the industry with work.
Emergency callouts Whenever there’s a gas leak, a gas engineer needs to be called out to rectify the problem.
New builds and domestic properties When gas appliances are installed, they need to be connected to the gas supply by a Gas Safe Register engineer.
So, by becoming registered with Gas Safe Register, you could significantly increase your earning potential as a gas engineer.
