Qualified gas engineers on the Gas Safe Register are in demand for a wide range of work.

Once you’ve successfully completed our main gas course you can go on the Gas Safe Register which allows you to do gas work in the UK. You could then start your own business or gain full time work for a company as a gas engineer.

There is real demand for gas engineers who’ve gained the appropriate qualifications and are on the Gas Safe Register.

There are 41,900 Google searches a month for ‘gas engineer/s’1  and many major projects throughout the UK where fully qualified gas engineers are needed.

Servicing work

Every domestic gas appliance should be serviced annually by a qualified gas engineer. This work can be a continuous source of income to qualified gas engineers.

Work in rented property

Qualified gas engineers are needed to service gas appliances in rental accommodation and complete a landlord’s safety certificate. This is a legal requirement for landlords and can therefore be an excellent source of income for engineers on the Gas Safe Register.

Emergency callouts

Whenever there’s a gas leak, a qualified gas engineer needs to be called out to rectify the situation. Qualified gas engineers could provide this service at a premium rate.

New builds and domestic properties

When gas appliances are installed, they need to be connected to the mains gas supply by a qualified gas engineer.

To become a qualified gas engineer you should take our ‘Become a Gas Engineer’ course and then be on the Gas Safe Register.
