There are two main electrical courses available from OLCI, ‘Become a Fully Qualified Electrician’ and ‘Become a Domestic Electrical Installer’. Both these electrical training courses can lead to achieving industry recognised qualifications. Learners who complete our Become a Fully Qualified Electrician course are qualified to become an electrician. By successfully completing one of the above listed main courses, you can be qualified to undertake specific work relevant to the electrical course you have completed. When you’ve become an electrician, with the appropriate qualifications, you could do this work through your own business or by working for a company. One of the main benefits of OLCI’s electrical training courses is that learners can use either our Business Support Service or Job Support Service in order to help them progress in their specific electrical career. Once you’ve completed your electrician course you can use these support services so you could benefit from our industry contacts and experience. This support can be particularly useful if you are beginning your electrician career.

Each main electrical course (Become a Fully Qualified Electrician and Become a Domestic Electrical Installer) can be taken by learners without any prior electrician training or qualifications, in addition to being suitable for those who have qualifications from the allied trades. As well as our two main electrical courses, you can also enrol on a selection of short courses. One of these shorter electrician courses, Solar PV, could help you take advantage of the demand for renewable energy. In general, these shorter electrical courses may be more relevant to learners who have already experienced professional electrical training before.

Whichever electrical course you decide to enrol on, you can receive a range of benefits that come with training at OLCI. We don’t have any specific term times so your electrical training course can begin when you’ve enrolled. This has the advantage of being able to help you profit from your qualifications and electrical career sooner. OLCI electrician courses combine both theory and practical elements. Learners can complete their theory units where and when it’s convenient to them. They can also receive practical electrical training at one of our training centres, all of which are owned and managed by OLCI. Our experienced tutors support learners as they progress through their electrical courses. They can advise and help the learner during both the practical and theoretical components of the electrical courses.
