Our main course – Become a Fully Qualified Electrician – prepares you for industry-recognised qualifications and makes you a fully qualified electrician.

Become a Fully Qualified Electrician*
City & Guilds Levels 2 and 3 Certificate in Electrotechnical Technology (2330); also
helps prepare you for City & Guilds 2356
Level 3 NVQ Certificate
You can work as a fully qualified electrician running your own business or working for a company. You will be able to work on domestic jobs, commercial projects, maintenance jobs, or you could work as an electrician in media organisations or sports, entertainment and events.
Become a Domestic Electrical Installer*
• EAL Level 2 Certificate for Domestic Electrical Installers inc. Part P
• 17th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations
(City & Guilds 2382-10)
• Fundamental Inspection, Testing and
Initial Verification (City & Guilds 2392-10)
• In-Service Inspection and Testing of
Electrical Equipment (City & Guilds 2377)
• Solar Photovoltaic (PV) certificate

 
This course is ideal for you if you want to work as an electrician in domestic environments only.
You can complete and self-certify domestic work in domestic environments eg. bathrooms and kitchens, lighting circuits and wall sockets in people’s homes. You can also inspect, test and complete the necessary paperwork for a new single phase installation. In addition, you will also be able to select, install and commission environmentally friendly Solar PV systems, which convert sunlight into electricity.
 

These electrical courses include all your practical workshops/assessments at one of our nationwide centres, and all theory units/assessments to study and complete at home. All our electrical courses prepare you for industry-recognised qualifications.

Understand the new Part P legislation. Gain the knowledge you need to apply for certification as a ‘competent domestic installer’ required for domestic electrical work.
Fundamental Inspection, Testing and Initial Verification
City & Guilds Level 2 Certificate in Fundamental Inspection, Testing and Initial Verification (2392-10)
Inspect, test and complete the necessary paperwork for a new single phase installation.
Inspection, Testing & Certification of Electrical Installations
City & Guilds Certificate in Inspection, Testing & Certification of Electrical Installations (2391)
Register with the NICEIC and inspect, test and certify industrial, commercial and domestic electrical installations.
In-Service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment Level 3 Certificate
City & Guilds Level 3 Certificate (2377)
for In-Service Inspection and Testing of
Electrical Equipment.
Become familiar with the IEE Code of Practice for in-service inspection and testing of portable electrical equipment. Also known as PAT testing.
 
For your local plumbing courseQualified electricians are needed
for a wide range of work – giving you opportunities to start your own business or gain full-time employment.
 

Domestic work   To install power cabling, fit household electrical equipment and test circuits in
customers’ homes.

Commercial projects   To install complete electrical systems, in major new office developments. This is known as ‘price work’ – where the more you install, the more you earn.

Maintenance contracts   These enable you to receive regular income from establishments such as hotels, restaurants and offices.

Media organisations   Television, radio and many other media organisations have ongoing requirements for fitting and maintaining electrics and lighting.

Work in sport, entertainment and events   Football, rugby and cricket stadiums, theatres, cinemas and concert halls, professional events companies up and down the country – none of them would function without qualified electricians.
