* Available on selected courses including ‘Become a Qualified Plumber’, ‘Become a Qualified Plumber – Advanced’, ‘Become a Gas Engineer’, ‘Become a Fully Qualified Electrician’, ‘Become a Domestic Electrical Installer’ and ‘Become a Green Engineer’ courses.
OLCI’s two main plumbing courses can lead to industry recognised qualifications from City & Guilds. The Become a Plumber course is suitable for beginners whilst our advanced course is more suited to those who have already had previous formal plumbing training. Once you’ve successfully completed our plumber training you could then set up your own business or start work for a company. One of the advantages of taking a main plumbing course with us is that you can benefit from our Business Support Service or Job Support Service. There are many more advantages too – which you can enjoy whether you take a main plumbing course or one of our shorter courses. You can start when you enrol – so you can start your plumbing career sooner. Your theory modules can be learnt when and where you want, whilst the practical plumbing training can be taken at one of our state-of-the-art centres available nationwide. Tutors can also assist you throughout both the practical and theory parts of your plumber course. To enrol on any of our plumbing training courses you can simply call an OLCI Career Advisor on Freephone 0800 058 2848. Alternatively, please click to visit our plumbing courses page.
The main OLCI gas course, Become a Gas Engineer, can prepare you for registering on the Gas Safe Register. Being on the Gas Safe Register is a requirement for all wishing to pursue gas careers as it means that they can then work with gas in the UK and Isle of Man. There are three elements to the main gas course at OLCI – and when you have completed all three you can register on the Gas Safe Register and become a gas engineer. Our main gas course can be taken by beginners who have no previous gas training as well as those who have already gained experience in the allied trades. There are many benefits to taking the OLCI gas courses. Learners can start their training once they enrol, which can enable them to start their gas career sooner. The gas course trains you in both theory and practical components. You can complete the theory elements when it suits you and then take the practical gas classes at one of our training centres (all OLCI training centres are all owned, managed and run by us). OLCI tutors are able to support you throughout your gas training. You can contact them face-to-face at our training centres during the practical gas course, then by email, phone, fax or post when you work through the theory elements. Please click the link for more information on our gas courses or call a Career Advisor on Freephone 0800 058 2848.
Learners can take two main electrical courses at OLCI: ‘Become a Fully Qualified Electrician’ and ‘Become a Domestic Electrical Installer’. These electrical training courses can lead to industry recognised qualifications from City & Guilds or EAL. Taking the fully qualified electrician course means you can call yourself a fully qualified electrician. This could give you more opportunities for work in your electrical career than if you were a domestic electrical installer. This is because the domestic electrical course trains learners to be able to work solely in a domestic setting. Whichever electrical course you decide to take, you can then set up your own business or start work for a company. One of the many benefits which comes from taking a main OLCI electrical training course is that we can offer you a Business Support Service or Job Support Service. This service can help you develop your electrician career with your own business or as part of a company. Other benefits include being able to start your chosen electrical course as soon as you enrol. This can help you profit from your new skills sooner. Plus, you can receive support from our experienced tutors. They combine years of experience, both on the tools and in teaching electrical courses. Those interested in enrolling on an OLCI electrical training course can contact one of our Career Advisors on 0800 058 2848. Alternatively, for more information, please click on the link to visit our electrical courses page.
As well as providing plumbing, gas and electrical courses, you can also receive training in renewable energy at OLCI. We have a wide range of green courses available which can give you the skills you need to benefit from the growing demand. For example, with our solar courses you can learn how to install solar panels. This solar training can be particularly beneficial when you consider the cost of energy consumption. Solar training is just one option and more green training is available – including courses which can train you on ground and air heat pumps, advising home owners how they can improve their energy efficiency, and rainwater harvesting. Those who successfully complete the green training can then set up their own business or join a company. Our renewable courses include both practical and theory elements. The theory can be done at home whilst learners can attend one of our training centres for the practical training elements of their green courses. The tutors who train learners on our renewable energy courses have significant teaching and on-the-job experience. They are able to offer support to learners who want advice on their particular green course. This can be done face-to-face during practical sessions or via phone, email, post or fax during the theory side of the renewable energy course. If you are interested in green training then you can contact our Career Advisors on 0800 058 2848. Alternatively, you can visit our renewable energy courses page.
